Kalkara Marina

Kalkara Marina

Malta is located 50 nautical miles south of Sicily and 160 nautical miles east of Tunisia, a veritable link between Europe and Africa. You can reach the island in two-and-a-half hours by plane. And once you get there, you will have at your disposal everything you need for a sailing cruise: warm weather from April to October and a beautiful rocky coastline with lost of anchorage spots, beaches with pristine sand and lively harbour towns. You start the cruise from Kalkara Marina in Kalkara, not far from Malta ́s capital city, Valletta. From there, sailors are likely to visit next the picturesque bay St. Pauls, Golden Bay and Anchor Bay (here is the place where some of the scenes of Popeye were filmed). In addition, the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, in the south- eastern part of Malta, offers a spectacle of Maltese tradition. And then where to? You cannot miss a sail to Gozo. Only if Ulysses had had a different experience…

  • Weather & Wind

During the summer months the weather is hot and weak north-western winds are
predominant. The high temperatures bring about some intense thermal winds, usually in the
late afternoon and evening. During the off-peak season, the weather is rather mild. Strong
eastern winds bring some swell to the harbours.
